Only if you have a car where width = length… 😉

Hi Gurinder. We missed you at GGC AX3. Hope you are OK. I let Rafael know about the Lockheed AX, but he had a family commitment. Sometimes life just gets in the way of Autocrossing! I think Stewart would enjoy running with the GGC E30 drivers, so I hope he does come to an event. Also hope to see you in June. 🙂

I would echo Chris’s comment. A fun day. A nice set of folks and a laid back vibe. I’d say the course was a little more open than a typical GGC course, which allowed the guys with horsepower to whip their mules. The blue vette that tussled with Dave at the last GGC event was TTD. I believe two other vettes also broke 50 seconds along with a Nissan 350 and a ‘Legends’ race car.

One of the folks (Stewart) was hustling an E30 through the course with vigor and I suggested he might enjoy a future GGC event with our E30 drivers. Mary Pozzi was on hand for most of the event and did a lot of coaching, which was neat.

    Hi Jeff

e:mail sent. Just got home from Buttonwillow, where I turned to the dark side of the force for a day. There were a few other GGC offenders as well…. !

Hi Brian. As always, thanks for the results.

In AA #462, please +1 to my 5th run (44.564) Makes the 7th run my fastest at 44.595 clean.

Congratulations to Tim Woo for a very quick time in AA.

Thanks Guys: Evolution Phase 2… $275 of Autocross wisdom in 24 runs taught by gods. My advice is to do it. (and then seriously think about doing it again) Rafael, Andy, Dana, Will, Gurinder and Gary were all at the last class, so GGC was well represented – which was neat.

Truth be told, I got lucky in AX2 as Ratko was absent and I think Tim just had a bad day. Ratko is back for AX3 and I won’t be beating him unless his wheels fall off! (and maybe not even then..) Perhaps if Mr Kolesar could see a way to take some vacation for the next 3 months…..

Thanks Rafael. I appreciate all the coaching and friendly support that I’ve received over the last season, especially from the original CCA ‘Stig’..!

For me this was the the toughest course of the last 2 seasons. I learned that using the triple cone entry gate as the start of the slalom gives you a DNF in the first 50 feet (sniff) and that double cones require triple the respect… A very devious course. Thanks Dave…!

Hi Brian. Please add one cone to #462 in AA on run 4 (45.960) and my times are correct. As one of the people who contributed to your misery, many thanks for sorting it out. I have a Starbucks card with your name on it at the next Autocross.

I note that we do not allow newcomers on track without coaching, and the committee may wish to consider a similar approach for trailer duties. I had little idea what to do initially and no idea what to do when RG3 went pear shaped after about 6 cars. It also went horribly wrong for my colleague on the paper sheets, when we had a car come out on the second run that had not been on the first, followed shortly afterwards by a car with no numbers and then a dual driver car that forgot to swap numbers. Probably no issue for old hands, but it certainly put us newcomers in a hole. I assume the experience was similar for other folks, since RG1 and RG2 were not our monkeys.

    Hi Brian

I checked my times with Chris Fountain on the computer at the end of Run Group 2 and they were exactly correct. I do still have the slips for my 2 best runs.

    #462 RG2, AA

    xx.xxx +2 cones
    xx.xxx
44.445 clean (Dana Gleason was passenger)
    xx.xxx
    44.420 clean (My best)
    xx.xxx

A VW Golf #322 was gridded right before me. I believe he was running low 50’s.

I watched Micheal’s run. He really had his spurs into that E30…! As Eric said over the PA: ‘He’s making y’all look bad..!’ Very nice drive. Another tough season in AA…
