Agree with you Jeff on the tight hairpin. Trail brake like crazy and tuck in tight seemed to work best for me.

Hmmmmmmm. Reduced driver weight and adjusted swaybar could affect bump steer and roll centers. I’d add 5 or 6 sacks of sand in the trunk and chow down on some donuts before the event to be safe… 🙂
Hi Folks. Thought I’d bump the AX Beginners School thread from last year as we are only 11 days away from the 2016 event. Woo Hoo!! I really enjoyed this event last year and am looking forward to seeing a new group of students along with the stalwart crew of instructors. Word is that Jeff is having gravel specially shipped in from San Jose. Should be good times… 🙂
I was signed up last year for Challenge at Marina and they cancelled about a week before. Not sure why. I was offered a slot down in Fontana, which I had to decline.
Hi Chris. Matt Farnham is signed up for both days and Rafael was talking about attending the Sunday when I saw him a few weeks ago. Afraid I’ve turned native and will be watching the Superbowl….

I think his point might have been that he was unhappy about cones out of the box?? I could be wrong. 😉
One might even disagree with his fundamental premise. If a cone was perfectly centered in the box and he moved it 4 inches, it would still be ‘in the box’ and no time penalty would be assessed. By this logic every cone was, actually, in the box. (See! I do pay attention at Jeff’s Drivers Meetings….) 🙂
This video helped me in two regards. I was blown away by how close he actually came to cones and I hope that I never get this worked up about a hobby, that is supposed to be fun, run by volunteers, during their free time, with a small glass trophy for the winner at the end of the season. Of course, with this attitude, it’s very likely that my name will never be on the trophy….. Oh well.
Ahem… I can’t believe Zebedee left my pressure gauge and air pump behind…. Glad they were picked up. I’ll retrieve at the next AX.
