One of my ’95 M3 wheels (style 22 if that matters) has a crack on the inner lip. Is it possible to get something like that reliably repaired? And if so, any recommended shops?

If a shop will weld a cracked wheel, I’d avoid going there. It’s too important of a part and no way of knowing what else might have been compromised in the incident that cracked it.

I’m sure you can find a used replacement that’s in good shape, or only has cosmetic damage. I have had wheels straightened and polished at Rite-Way Wheel. They do meticulous work and will not weld wheels.

Thanks Jeff. I’ve got a lead on a couple that are on E-Bay which is kind of oogy… I’ve tried some of the used wheel stores found on-line and they are out of the style 22. Fingers crossed.

If you’re on Facebook, there are some groups – including the Chapter’s – where you can ask for or find used parts.

If you’re not on and want me to post a query for you, I’d be happy to. Let me know if it’s front or rear that you need.

Thanks. I have a FB account but have avoided being active on it… perhaps this is the tipping point. 😉

So, not to look like a total FB newb, if I go to the GCC page do I just enter my post where it says “Write something on this Page”?

Thanks again Jeff. Into the breech I go… What’s that? Oh, just Mark Z. chuckling, making another chalk mark on that tally he’s been accumulating…
