TDS adjust time formula

    Could someone give an example of the TDS adjusted time formula? I saw the formula, but just don’t see how the numbers work. Probably not understanding the formula. Thanks.

    Adjusted time = ((60/59.901)^points) x Raw-time x 0.85

    ^ means “to the power of” the car points

    This is a funny looking formula. Anyone know how it was derived?
